Senior Wealth Advisor
Jason joined ScotiaMcLeod in January 1997 and since that time has been working with David to bring financial solutions to their clients.
Jason possesses a Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP) designation, a mark that identifies individuals who are dedicated to a high level of professionalism in providing financial planning advice. The CFP is an internationally recognized designation awarded in Canada by the Financial Planners Standards Council (FPSC). CFP professionals must meet the FPSC's standards in education, experience, examination and ethics. CFP professionals must adhere to a routine of continuing education every year and agree to abide by the CFP Code of Ethics to renew their right to use the designation annually. The CFP credentials assure you that those using them have agreed to adhere to the highest internationally recognized standards of competence and ethical practice as set out by the FPSC.
At the heart of the Cork Brazeau Group's investment process is the philosophy that the only true risk investors face is that money is not available to them when they require it. For this reason, their investment process begins with a client-centric, comprehensive financial planning exercise that Jason oversees. Part of this procedure includes forecasting your future need for cash flow, understanding how your cash flow is diversified and, where appropriate, immunizing the portfolio against the kind of short-term risks to your assets that can erode the long-term purchasing power of your money. This financial planning process provides the team with the information we require to act as proper advisors in your financial life.
Jason completed the Certified Investment Management Analyst program (CIMA) in 2004 and therefore understands that the financial world’s increasing complexities mean that sophisticated trustees and investors require the objectivity, experience, and expert evaluation of an investment consultant. Since 1988, the Investment Management Consultants Association has been offering the CIMA program of study offered in conjunction with the Wharton School. The course is designed to provide insight into the areas of investment policy, efficient asset selection, performance and risk measurement, manager selection and due diligence, and portfolio construction.
Jason is a former Board Chair of the Salvation Army Ottawa Grace Manor Board of Governors and has also served as the Chair of the ScotiaMcLeod National Advisory Board.
